Oddbit Remote · Last updated: July 11, 2026
Oddbit Remote ("the app") is developed by Oddbit Studios ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. In short: the app is designed to work entirely on your own device and local network, and we do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information.
We do not collect any personal information. The app has no user accounts, no login, and sends no data to Oddbit Studios or to any third-party server. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools of any kind.
To function as a remote control, the app stores a small amount of information locally on your device only. This never leaves your phone:
This information is kept in the app's private storage on your device. You can remove it at any time by using the app's re-pair option, clearing the app's data in your device settings, or uninstalling the app.
The app searches your local Wi-Fi network to find compatible TV devices, and connects to the device you select in order to send remote-control commands. This communication happens directly between your phone and your TV over your own network. The app uses network access solely for this purpose and does not send your network information anywhere else. The connection to your TV is encrypted.
The programmable buttons send a request to your TV device to open a streaming service on the TV. The app does not access, store, or process your streaming accounts, credentials, or viewing activity. Opening and using those services is handled entirely by the TV and by the streaming provider, whose own privacy policies apply.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
